This brave actress had suffered from a deadly disease after filming the first season of the popular TV series Game of Thrones. She had a subarachnoid hemorrhage, a life-threatening type of stroke.

Emilia Clarke suffered from a brain aneurysm that needed urgent surgery. This condition causes abnormal blood-filled swelling of an artery resulting from a weakness in the wall of the vessel.  

Unknown to many, the actress was fighting for her life in 2011, suffering from excruciating headaches. She underwent three hours of surgery and recovered after two weeks.

Unfortunately, the surgery wasn’t entirely successful. Emilia Clarke could not remember anything, including her name. Devastating for her, she had asked the medical staff to let her die. However, after a week, she was able to regain her speech.

Still, the traumatic experiences did not end there. During promotions for Game of Thrones in 2013, she felt weak and had to take a brain scan, which revealed yet another aneurysm that had doubled in size.

Emilia Clarke had undergone two surgical operations, the first of which was unsuccessful, leading to a massive bleed in her brain. Fortunately, her second surgery went well. 

However, Emilia Clarke suffered from anxiety and panic attacks after she recovered from the surgery, mostly about concerns involving her future as an actress.

After Emilia Clarke recovered from the trauma that almost took her life, she launched a charity organization that supports individuals with brain injuries and hopes to create more awareness about brain injuries.
