The way an actor understands and executes a character creates magic on the screen. And the screen not only remains till the screen but the aura transfers into the life of people. It can create a psychological, emotional, and even physical impact. But the life of an actor is very much different from the onscreen life. One can’t imagine what the person is going through in their life. Mostly, the comedian who gives a reason to smile and feel happiness might be the one suffering in there in real life.

Early Life

Laurie McLaurin gave birth to Robin on July 21, 1951, in Chicago, USA. She was a former model. His father, Robert Fitzgerald, was a senior executive at Ford Motor Company. Robin spent his childhood with his two brothers. The family migrated to Michigan when Robin was young.  There he started his schooling.

Education 

Robin Williams joined the Detroit Country Day School. He was very good in both academic and extracurricular activities. Despite he faced the bullying in the school. He had an introvert personality. And he used to love playing with his toys alone. As both parents were working, he used to imagine for entertainment. 

Likewise, Robin Williams joined “Redwood High School” during his teenage. He completed his high school in 1969. He was a renowned student in the school. People used to know him for making everyone laugh and cracking jokes. Robin was passionate about acting since a small age. 

Moreover, he grew up with acting. As a result, he received a full scholarship from a reputed school: Julliard School in New York City in 1973. John Houseman had selected only two students for the Advanced program in that year. And Robin was one of them. William Hurt and Christopher Reeve were his batchmates.

Career

Robin Williams started his career participating in the stand-up comedy shows. It was during the 1970s.  Likewise, Robin got a great opportunity while he was performing at Comedy Club in Los Angeles in 1977. The TV producer George Schlatter offered to become part of his revival show: “Laugh-In” in that show. 

Then, Robin did his television debut from the “Laugh-In” in late 1977. Although the show was not a big success but still from his stand-up routines he left an impression in the industry. Moreover, after a year, he gave audition for “Happy Days” in 1978. There was a humorous incident during the audition that impressed the producer. Robin sat on the head of the producer immediately after he got permission to sit and that won the here if producer. His performance created magic and the show becomes a hit.

Moreover, the same year Robin stepped ahead in his journey. He became part of the American situational comedy “Mork & Mindy” in 1978. He portrayed the role of Mork; an alien from the planet Ork. The show succeeded and Robin established himself as a comedian in the industry. The show ran for four years before ending in the year 1982. 

Robin Williams got a huge success after his performance in a live comedy show at the Copacabana in New York City in 1979. The recording of the show was titled “Reality…What a Concept” won a Grammy Award. 

Likewise, Robin Williams did his debut in movies from the movie: “Can I Do It ‘Till I Need Glasses’?” in 1977. But still, he didn’t get much success from the movies. It was three years after his debut that he got his huge success. He became part of the successful movie “Popeye the Sailor Man” in 1980. He portrayed the role of Popeye in the movie.

Then, Robin was part of many movies. Likewise, his performances in “Moscow on the Hudson” was remarkable. The comedy-drama movie succeeded to praise him with  “Gloden Globe Award” for the category of “Best Actor” in 1984. Robin was even part of the movie “Good Morning, Vietnam” in 1987. It was a war comedy. His role as radio DJ on armed Radio Service. The life of radio DJ Adrian Cronauer had inspired the character.

Moreover, Robin Williams was part of great movies like “Dead Poets Society” in 1989, “Mrs. Doubtfure” in 1993, “Good Will Hunting” in 1997, “One Hour Photo” in 2002, “Robots” in 2005, “License Wed” in 2007, and “Old Dogs” in 2009. He was also part of the theatre like “Waiting for Godot” in 1988 and “Bengal Tiger at the Baghdad Zoo” in 2011. He also did a series for a season called “The Crazy Ones” in May 2013. Robert was doing a shoot for “Merry Friggin’ Christmas” and “Night at the Museum: Secret of the Tomb” while he suddenly died in 2014. They have been scheduled for posthumous release.

Relationship/Personal Life

Robin Williams had married three times in his life. He did his first marriage with Valarie Velardi in 1978. The couple had a son. Unfortunately, the couple divorced due to his alcoholism and unfaithfulness. Then, he married his son’s nanny Marsha Garces in 1989. The couple also had two children. But still, the marriage didn’t work well and they divorced. And he married graphic designer Susan Schneider in 2011. 

In contrast to his appearance in the movies, Robin Williams had issues with drug abuse and alcoholism. He wasn’t happy and satisfied with the inside and had suffered from depression. His personal assistant found him unconscious on August 11, 2014. The doctors declared him dead shortly. People predicted that suicide was the reason for his death.
