Booking a Wrestler 411: Edge

EDGE!

Right now, Edge is in a feud with The Undertaker, which should come to a end this Sunday at One Night Stand. But how should WWE book Edge beyond One Night Stand. Here is my opinion on this matter. On the Friday Night Smackdown before One Night Stand, Edge, Hawkins, Ryder, Chavo, and Bam Neely are in a match against Batista, Shawn Michaels, and The Undertaker in a 5 on 3 handicap match. During the match, Chavo and Bam Neely are the mostly the only ones fighting in the match, as the other 3 are just sitting back and not tagging in.

Chavo manages to tag in Hawkins, then he starts yelling at Edge, then he says “I’m done” and he and Bam Neely walk out of the match, making the match even. Undertaker’s team gets the win, after a tombstone on Ryder. A fight then breaks out between Batista and Michaels, and Undertaker and Edge with Hawkins and Ryder. Batista and Michaels fight out of the arena, and Edge, Hawkins and Ryder beat up Edge, and deliver a conchairto.

At One Night Stand, Undertaker defeats Edge in a TLC match for the World Championship, but Edge would go out looking strong. On the next Smackdown, it would then be Edge vs Batista vs the returning Rey Mysterio in a #1 contenders match for the World Heavyweight Championship. The match would end in a draw, and then Vickie comes out and announces that Edge would be in the match, but in the interest of fairness, the other two would be two. So it would be a fatal four way match at Vengeance for the World Championship.

At Vengeance, Undertaker successfully defends his World Heavyweight Championship. Edge once again looks strong in the match, but he loses. Edge is then out of the World Title Picture, and he then goes into a feud withnot Chavo Guerrero but Bam Neely! Bam Neely says the whole time he’s been with Edge, he wanted out, but Chavo always wanted to stay. But when Chavo wanted out, he was so happy. He then challenges him to a match at The Great American Bash, and Edge actually accepts. Just tells him yes. The weeks leading up to the Great American Bash, Edge is in mostly jobber matches with jobbers from FCW.

At the Great American Bash, Bam Neely defeats Edge, after the ref was down, and Chavo runs out and knocks out Edge with a steel chair shot, then gives him a conchairto. The next Smackdown, Edge comes out and he gets a mixed reaction. He says he’s tired of Chavo, and he wants him at SummerSlam. Vickie comes out and says that she will of course give the match to him. Edge then says he’s tired of Vickie, and that they aren’t going to get married, and they are through! That gets a decent pop. Chavo then comes out with Bam Neely, Hawkins, and Ryder. He tells them that Hawkins and Ryder came to him, and that they wanted to be with him. Vickie then interrupts and says that Edge will be in a handicap match tonight. It will be Chavo and Bam Neely vs Edge! Edge defeats the two, but gets jumped after the match by Hawkins and Ryder.

Edge is then thrown people such as Funaki, Deuce, Domino, and Chuck Palumbo over the next few weeks, and then at SummerSlam, he defeats Chavo, and the fans give him a pop, and they cheer for him most of the match.

Edge starts off the next Smackdown, and he says that Chavo is done. But Bam Neely still hasn’t gotten what he needs to get. Vickie comes out and says that it will be Edge vs Bam Neely, in a no DQ Match. After interference from Chavo, Hawkins, and Ryder, Edge managed to pull out a victory.

The next week, Edge then lays down the challenge to Hawkins and Ryder for Unforgiven in a handicap match. Hawkins and Ryder decline the offer, but Chavo tells them to do it, and they will have back up. So Hawkins and Ryder accept. With the weeks leading up to Unforgiven, Edge defeats Bam Neely one more time, and some jobbers from FCW.

At Unforgiven, Edge defeats Hawkins and Ryder. But after the match, Chavo and Bam Neely come out, and then they all four beat up on Edge, and they leave him a bloody mess.

Edge is then on the shelf for about a month. His return promos air two weeks before Cyber Sunday, and for the first time, the fans will have a choice of two things. First the match type, and second, who he faces. Here is what the choices would be.

Judging by the way I would vote, I would have him face Chavo Guerrero in a TLC matchwhich he wins after him and Chavo were both on the ladder, Edge pushes Chavo off the ladder and into a stack of tables! The next Smackdown, it is announced that at Survivor Series, it will be team Chavo vs team Edge!

Chavo says that he already has his team ready, and that Edge better do the same quick. The next week, Edge announces his first member on his team, and that’sRey Mysterio! Team Chavo doesn’t like this, and Vickie Guerrero decided to put them in a 4 on 2 handicap match. Throughout the night, we see Edge talking to superstars, but we can’t see who they are. In the 4 on 2 handicap match, Edge and Mysterio win, but after the match, they get beat up by Team Chavo. But all of a sudden, Kane’s music hits and he comes out and takes out team Chavo. He then helps Edge and Mysterio up, and they raise their arms up to end the show.

2 weeks before Survivor Series, Edge must face the entire Team Chavo in a gauntlet match. Edge survives the gauntlet, but once again, Team Chavo comes out and they attack Edge. Kane and Mysterio run out, but they are too attacked. Chavo calls for the chairs, and Hawkins and Ryder go get them. Chavo looks to get the conchairto on Edge when the arena goes dark and you hear the gong! The lights come back on, and Undertaker is in the ring! Team Chavo scurries out of the ring before Undertaker can do anything, but Taker rolls his eyes into the back off his head, and he is the final member of Team Edge.

The next week on Smackdown, there are two tag team matches. One is Undertaker and Kane vs Bam Neely and Chavo Guerrero, and the other is Edge and Rey Mysterio vs Curt Hawkins and Zach Ryder. Kane and Undertaker defeats Bam Neely and Chavo, and Edge and Mysterio defeats Hawkins and Ryder, with good team work from Mysterio and Edge.

At Survivor Series, Edge’s team wins with not a single person being eliminated. In the next Smackdown, Vickie Guerrero is fired by WWE, and WWE brings backPaul Heyman! His first order of business, is he calls out both Team Edge, and Team Chavo. He tells them that tonight, they will be in a four team tag team tournament and the winning team will face the WWE Tag Team Champions, Deuce and Domino at Armageddon.. The first match is Chavo and Bam vs Edge and Mysterio! And the second is Undertaker and Kane (Brothers of Destruction) vs Hawkins and Ryder! Mysterio and Edge win, and so do Brothers of Destruction.

The Tournament spans over about 3 weeks, and ends with one edition of Smackdown before Armageddon. Mysterio and Edge pull out the upset by defeating the Brothers of Destruction. At Armageddon, they win the WWE Tag Team Titles for a second time.
