Alycia Baumgardner knocked out Terri Harper in scary fashion and left her asleep on her feet,

Mikaela Mayer has told talkSPORT that she sees 'nothing to fear' from Alycia Baumgardner ahead of their fight on September 10 in London.

The two American champions will meet to unify their super-featherweight world titles in a highly anticipated showdown on the same card as Claressa Shields vs Savannah Marshall.

Mayer currently holds the IBF and WBO titles, while Baumgardner has the WBC crown.

Baumgardner won her belt by knocking out Britain's Terri Harper in scary fashion last year.

In round four, she caught Harper with a right hand coming in which left her completely out on her feet.

Harper appeared to freeze in mid air and Baumgardner prepared a follow-up left hook.

However, at this point referee Mark Lyson heroically stepped in, noticing the danger and stopping the fight immediately.

This performance was enough to convince many of the danger that Baumgardner poses, but not her next opponent Mayer.

"She's really not that aggressive of a fighter," Mayer insisted on talkSPORT Fight Night.

"Like, think about it, she likes to sit back, coast through her fights.

"There's nothing to fear in Alycia Baumgardner.

"She's not the one who sets the pace, I'm the person who sets the pace.

"In her fight with [Edith] Matthysse, she couldn't kick into that second or third gear.

"If she can't land that big right hand, she doesn't have anything else.

"So I don't think she's all that aggressive. I think I'm aggressive. I think I'm the dog-walker."

Addressing the Harper knockout, Mayer added: "People think Baumgardner - because she fought Terri Harper - that she's this big puncher and big one-punch KO artist, which I don't necessarily believe.

"I think that she does have power and I think she caught Harper perfectly.

"But I don't think that she'll be able to run through what I throw at her.

"I still think she's got more to prove.

"I think Savannah [Marshall] has proven her power a little bit more.

"But still, some people believe that Baumgardner's this big one-punch knockout artist and that she's gonna knock me out.

"I think that makes it more exciting."
